Leading Manufacturing concern is looking for a Cost Accountant to join their team.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

? Matric plus relevant Accounting/Cost Accounting Degree
? 3+ Years’ experience in a manufacturing environment in a similar position
? Knowledge of Standard Costing
? Analytical mind and the ability to identify variances, omissions and errors
? General computer literate to at least intermediate level (Strong Microsoft Excel skills)
? Ability to multi task
? Strong attention to detail; high level of accuracy and able to handle high volume tasks
? Able to work alone unsupervised
? Deadline driven
? Excellent communication skills on all levels

JOB DESCIPTION

? Creating new stock items on ERP system
? Create & maintain warehouses on ERP system where relevant
? Load & maintain BOM's on ERP system
? Standard cost review and adjustment
? Processing standard cost adjustments on ERP system
? Review of results of daily production sheets processing
? Review of daily stock count results - split out stock count differences on daily basis between items produced for the relevant day via journal entry
? Managing administration around stock counts (schedule stock count meetings before formal stock counts to ensure accurate cut off and complete processing of all transactions that have an impact on stock movement)
? Assist with capturing of stock take results
? Distributing stock take results & variances to relevant parties
? Reconciliation of stock transfer account (goods in transit)
? Check waste sheets (damaged & expired stock) for approval and process waste sheets on ERP system
? Check bad returns warehouse on weekly basis; distribute weekly report & write off to expense account
? Processing of ad hoc stock adjustments (receipts & issues)
? Processing of staff amenities on receipt of signed off form
? Processing of samples on receipt of signed off form
? Extracting and compiling reports for stock relating permits; licenses etc.
? Investigation and reconciling of purchase variance account & material variance account
? Monthly reconciliation of inventory sub ledger to GL
? Monthly reconciliation of goods despatched / shipped but not yet invoiced
? Monthly reconciliation & review of goods in transit stock balance
? Year end - review and calculate stock valuation according to IFRS standards
? Year end - manage year end stock count process
? Year end - reconcile goods in transit stock balance
? Year end - calculation of stock obsolescence provision
? Other tasks relevant to this position and role might be required from time to time
