Our client in Paarl is looking for a Cost Accountant.The incumbentâ??s role will be to ensure that the company achieves the highest market-related margins on new and existing products and most cost-effective freight solutions.

Minimum requirements:

A Tertiary qualification in Accounting or general B Com;

Minimum 2 years’ work experience in cost controlling/cost accounting in a manufacturing environment;

Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

Attention to detail.

Main areas of responsibility include:

• Collection of data to determine costs of business activities, including raw material purchases, inventory, labour, changes in manufacturing methods, etc. to determine the effect on costs.
• Develop cost standards. 
• Analyse actual versus standard manufacturing costs and prepare reports to compare the two.
• Estimate new and proposed product costs, benchmarking against industry standards.
• Compare and analyse cost variances.
• Specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products.
• Daily costings of new product developments and pricing of existing products to B2B customers.
• Sourcing of raw material prices and most cost effective freight solutions from both internal and external sources.
• Gathering and analyzing of information concerning relevant price trends and developments on the procurement markets.
