A family estate in the heart of the scenic Winelands has a vacancy for a Creative Chef with a passion for digestive health, detox, immune health, gut repair and overall wellness aimed at families.

Job Description:

* Creating out-of-the-box culinary ideas focused on healthy living (including a variety of menu designs).
* Operational planning, coordination and implementation of entire kitchen and preparation area(s). This includes all general culinary activities as well as delegation of duties.
* Quality monitoring: Providing high standard of service delivery.
* Financial management: Excellent at costing (includes estimation of food and labor costs).
* Training: Supervise, delegate and mentor kitchen staff according to required activities and required skills.
* Maintenance: Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs.
* Recruitment: Participate in recruitment of kitchen staff.
* Conflict management: Ability to spot and efficiently resolve arising challenges or complaints.
* Excellent attention to detail: Give prepared plates the “final touch”.
* Perform administrative duties.
* Comply with nutritional and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
* Excel in time management.
* Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
* Keep up with culinary trends and best practices.
 
Requirements:

* Proven working experience as a chef/cook.
* Excellent record of kitchen management.
* Communication and leadership skills.
* Working knowledge of various computer software programs (Semper, MS Office, MS Excel, etc.).
* Tertiary qualification in culinary science or related certificate will be an added advantage.
* Code B driver’s license.
* At least 3 years’ knowledge and experience in the implementation of Catering services (conferences and weddings).
* Minimum 2 years’ kitchen management experience (experience in stock orders, control and waste management).
