KEY PURPOSE
- Effectively review, monitor and report on Credit and Risk Management at a company level.
- Ensure effective and consistent management of the company’s debtor’s book towards successful achievement of company’s national targets and key performance indicators.

Account Management
- Business Controls Management
- Analysing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution to solve problems
- Using relevant information and individual judgement to determine whether processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards
- Evaluate credit processes and controls and make recommendations to increase efficiency in collections and day-to-day operations
People Management

- Liaise and build relationships with Market information service providers

Business plans consolidated
- Update monthly forecast
- Variance analysis

Minimised credit risk and exposure
- Monitor ESM’s credit exposures to ensure it is within set credit limits
- Observe and obtain information from all relevant sources
- Review customer files to identify delinquent accounts for collection
- Recommend a course of action, example, reduce credit line
Analysed Credit Performance
- Monitor customer payment history
- Assess past dues on a month-to-month basis, investigate causes
- Monthly credit report consolidation (OOC’s) credit analysis
Market trend analysis:
- Using computer systems/database to set up a platform to enter market related data
- Read and interpret up to date financial industry information to see how in general the industry is doing and impact on the company
- Knowledge of key issues impacting company’s customer base
- Identification of high risk business sectors
- Support the Regional Credit units with risk assessments
- Risk assessment/certain national account review (outside of regional LOA / scope).
- Assessments/analysis of credit submissions by regional credit teams
- Gather, interpret and analyse financial information to evaluate customer’s ability to the company
- Utilise financial ratios (liquidity, solvency....)
- Highlight exposure outside of regional LOA/scope
- Increased focus on bad debt recovery opportunities through improved account management review, support to the regions and monthly consolidated reporting
- Monitoring and proper control of doubtful debt
Control bad debt exposure through monitoring past dues and exceeding credit limits
- Doubtful debts Year end Provision calculation
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and Tax legislation
Account management:
- DCA’s
- Loans and Grants
- OOC’s distribution related accounts (non sales/exchange)
