Job Duties
• Assume overall responsibility of debtors’ book
• Operate within the guidelines and requirements of the company credit policy
• Maintain an appropriate credit risk level
• Manage and control receivable measurements to budget requirements (ageing, collections, bad debt)
• Ensure processes and controls in place to maximise collections and increase cash flow
• Ensure adherence by customers to their agreed trading terms
• Direct and manage Credit department staff
• Manage account application process
• Resolve disputes with customers
• Prepare accurate cash flow forecasts and analysis and other management reports (ageing, collections, provisions)
• Review customer accounts on a regular basis to ensure cash flow maximised and to maintain an appropriate level of credit risk
• Manage collection process of delinquent accounts ; including establishing relationships with collection agencies and collection attorneys
• Effectively work with the sales team to improve credit quality and cash flow
• Effectively work with the Finance Department to ensure accurate billing and management of returns, claims and credits
• Effectively work with the Finance Department to ensure accurate accounting and reporting
• Prepare account reconciliations
• Report to Senior Management on risk issues
• Keep abreast of relevant legislation
• Ad hoc projects and responsibilities as assigned

Matric
Relevant Credit Management Qualification
Bachelors Degree Preferred
Experience
• Minimum 5 years in similar position
• Experience of leading a credit department
• Experience with Mass and other large retail clients an advantage
• Experience with Microsoft NAV an advantage
