Our client in the La Mercy area is recruiting for a Customs Control Agent, to provide administrative support at the entrance and egress gates to the company's site. To control and record all movements of goods, persons and vehicles into and out of the company's site

• Perform access control function over the movements of goods, persons and vehicles
• Verification of goods declaration
• Verify all cargo or SARS Customs related shipments
• Ensure that all SARS Customs documentation is completed prior to shipment entering or departing from site.
• Direct incoming shipment to appropriate warehouse door

Perform daily, weekly and monthly reconciliations and filing
• Reporting to SARS
• Reporting anomalies to Management and SARS
• Redirecting vehicles to appropriate areas as directed by SARS officials
• Perform quality checks
• Resolve customer queries

Perform any other duties assigned by the Operational Management from time to time
• The Custom Control Agent will be required to work overtime from time to time due to operational requirements;

The Customer Control Agent will be required to be on standby as 2nd tier support and attend to callouts as and when required.


Minimum of a Matric

Knowledge of:

Export/import documentation

SARS documentation

General Cargo legislation

Manual handling and safe practice

Occupational health and safety legislation

Telephone etiquette

Verbal and written communication skills

Computer literacy

Numeracy

Tolerant of stress and pressure
