JOB PURPOSE:
To control the receipt, laying up and accurate cutting of fabric. The accurate lay number identification of cut components and the issuing of cut work to the Production Floor, all in accordance with prescribed procedures and the instruction on the cutting order.

The Cutting Room Manager is accountable for the efficient control of the Cutting Room, all applicable duties performed or delegated, as described in this description, and maintaining a close liaison at all times with the Production Line and Quality Assurance Managers.

AUTHORITY:
The Cutting Room Manager is a member of Middle Management and has the authority to control duties performed by the Cutting Room personnel. The Cutting Room Manager has the authority to discipline his / her staff if and when necessary.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Cutting Room Manager is particularly responsible for:

Arranging for all silk screen printing and embroidery to be completed according to customer’s requirements.
Receipting, verification and correcting storage of fabric issued from the fabric stores.
Authorizing and supervision of laying up, and the inspection of fabric during this process.
Ensuring that any fabric in the cutting room that is found to be unacceptable is identified as such and returned to the Fabric Stores.
Authorizing and implementation of accurate and efficientcutting of fabric lays in accordance with prescribed procedures.
Identification of remnant cloth from laid pieces, sufficient to be recalled in the event of components needing to be recut, or pieces needing to be identified at a later phase of the manufacturing process, thereby ensuring traceability.
Supervising of lay number identification, ticketing and bundling.
Issuing of cut work to the production floor.
Motivation and supervision of Cutting Room personnel.
Supervision and strict maintenance of good housekeeping policies and procedure
Shall accept instruction to undertake any other duty or responsibility as instructed by a Senior Person.
