Data Analyst
Location: Century City, Cape Town
 
Purpose of the Role: 
Our Risk Assurance division is looking for a senior consultant to perform data analytics and assurance services as part of a dynamic and innovative team of Risk Assurance, Internal Audit and External audit practitioners.

Oualification & Experience:

• B.Com IT / Informatics, Bachelor of Business Science, B.Com Accounting & Economics, BSc IT / Computer Science or other Bachelor’s degree with an analytical mindset
• Programming languages: SQL, SAS, C++
• Experience Required:  3-5 years
• Consulting experience will be an added advantage.
• Auditing qualification or background will be an added advantage
• In-depth knowledge of Data Analytics / Management
• Have a good understanding of relational databases
• Be able to analyse relationships between data
• Have experience with writing SAS/ SQL queries
• Should be able to understand the fundamentals of programming
• Be proficient in Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint
• Experience in a consulting environment
• Experience in solving routine and complex business problems
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Duties:

• Perform data analytics and assurance services, including:
• Solving routine and complex business problems
• Internal and external audit related testing
• Extraction of data from various types of databases
• Reconciling extracted data to the source data
• Prepare programming logic to test business rules, by scripting data analytics queries
• Preparation of working papers
• Reporting of results in an insightful manner
• Assignment planning and budgeting
• Manage junior consultants
• Help grow the Risk Assurance practice with focus on risk assurance and audit related services through assistance with business development, including writing of proposals.
• Manage client service delivery
• Ensure quality of service delivery
• Draft reports for management, articulating the risks of the issues identified, and providing meaningful and practical recommendations
• Effectively communicate results of assessment findings, rational and recommendations
• Document interviews, develop findings and recommendations;
• Document the results of fieldwork, review the work of juniors
• Ensure compliance to firm's risk management policies
• Perform assessments in a thorough, efficient and professional manner;
• Obtain the required domain knowledge to conduct the assessments or remediation
