THE ROLE DESCRIPTION
Since the commencement of the BCBS239 regulation from SARB, banks will engage continuously with SARB during the next 10 to 12 months to effectively audit and assure their level of compliance. The role requires audit background, especially in a banking environment.
This role will be responsible to proactively work with various business stakeholders to prepare them for the audit, as well as to liaise with the audit team on behalf of the programme office. Furthermore, this person will actively support the audit process with preparing audit closure packs.
Understanding programme governance, being detail oriented, understanding data, data processes and data management, will be to great advantage.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understand and align to any existing Data Governance frameworks used in the bank.
- Educate and create awareness of BCBS 239 regulatory requirements and principles to all relevant stakeholders in the enterprise.
- Facilitate and coordinate the end to end project delivery across project lifecycle:
o Providing input to scheduling of audit interactions with each stakeholder group.
o Engaging with each stakeholder group in advance to prepare all required information for the audit engagement.
o Support each audit engagement.
o Prepare required audit procedural documents and packs.

- Knowledge / Technical Skills / Expertise

o Basic understanding of regulatory & banking practices
o Sufficient understanding of Basel’s BCBS 239 regulation and practices for effective compliance.
o Understanding of the risks associated with substandard data and the drawing up of the relevant risk map.
o Analytical/lateral thinker.
o Ability to work in a team.
o Process mapping and data flow mapping.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:
- A formal degree/qualification would be an advantage
- Data management qualifications would be an advantage
- 3 years' experience working at an enterprise level with customer and reference data.
- 3+ years' experience in the Banking Industry
- Relevant experience and exposure to BCBS 239
