Data Management Team Leader R22000 - East Rand

General Job Description
The role of the Data Management Team Leader is to maintain the structure and integrity of the company’s Research databases.

Overall responsibilities:
Management and Leadership
• Lead the team according to data processing team key performance indicators
• Mentor and manage each team member in their core performance areas

Skills, Qualifications and experience requirements:
• BCom degree with Business Informatics (Maths) in Software Programming or related studies e.g. Computer Science, Systems Engineering or Maths/Statistics preferred
• 3-5 years relevant experience in areas such as data management, data analysis, data processing and databases essential
• Must have experience working with large volumes of data
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience in other statistical/tabulation analysis software such as QlikView, SPSS, STATA, SAS, Quantum an advantage
• Previous experience in a market research or analytics environment a definite advantage
• SQL database administration and transact SQL a definite advantage
• Must understand data cleaning and analysis tools well enough to conduct the roles and responsibilities described below
• Ability to perform integration of disparate datasets

Database Management and Maintenance
• Develop monitor and maintain a suite of databases to enhance and utilize the data more effectively
• Convert files from DBA or Excel platform to various systems using and applying best practice methods
• Develop report writing features to export to PowerPoint
• Provide flexibility to company datasets to allow for integration
• Maintain dataset integrity and develop data editing and analysis syntax to keep paper trail of required editing

Data Analysis
• Analysis of SQL databases
• Be comfortable working with SQL/SPSS syntax to run inferential statistics analysis an advantage
• Understand and share knowledge about the principals of data analysis and data management
• Creation of custom databases dependent on project requirements

Reporting
• Responsible for liaising with client teams with regard to their data requirements
• Documenting unique client reporting requirements (including coding / cleaning rules)
• Understand the importance of the client context and reasons for the study to enrich and strengthen results
• Transfer results from data analysis tools to PowerPoint with minimal human intervention
• Report to management on key metrics per department
• Linking of our Datasets to Clients Datasets e.g. linking of products
• Managing and assisting team in cleaning of Pricing Data
