Data Modeller (PNP0004)

PBT Group requires the services of Data Modeller to assist with the development of some data marts.

The Data Modeller will be required to assist with collecting and defining business requirements as well as defining the dimensional data model, and must be familiar with the Kimball methodology.

The outcomes of the engagement will be:
- Business Requirements Specifications for the selected data marts.
- Dimensional data models for the selected data marts.

Interaction and reporting:
- The Data Modeller will report to the BI/DW Project Manager
- Interaction and close working relationships will be maintained with:
- Business users
- Systems analysts and developers
- Other technical staff
- Workshops may be conducted with business representatives, business and systems analysts and developers.

Requirements for the Data Modeller:
- Excellent data analysis and communication skills.
- Experience and familiarity with data warehouse concepts and dimensional modelling, particularly the Kimball method.
- MUST have Retail Industry experience

Key Roles for the Data Modeller:
- Driving the process to gather and document requirements (The project manager and business project lead will assist with requirement definition activities);
- Lead the dimensional modelling effort (interested parties in IT and business community will review and provide feedback on the design);

Key deliverables for the Data Modeller:
- Business User meeting agenda;
- Program and/or project interview write-ups (Clear, concise, thorough, detailed, and transparent documentation must be provided)
- Program requirements findings document, including the preliminary enterprise data warehouse bus matrix and agreed upon prioritization grid;
- High Level model diagram;
- Attribute and metrics list;
- Detailed dimensional design worksheet:
- Issues List;
