PBT Group has an opportunity for a highly experienced Data Modeler to design and maintain optimal data models/structures at both an enterprise and system / application level that meet the business and architectural objectives.

Skills and Experience Required:
- Analyses and design.
- Preparation of technical design documentation based on BRS and FRS documents.
- Update of reporting traceability matrices.
- Report > schema mapping.
- Schema > ETL mapping.
- Metadata management.
- Definition of data models and design of models such as relational, star and snowflake schemas.
- ETL definition including mapping and transform rules.
- Support and guidance of the internal development team.
- Technical training sessions to be designed and conducted on specific implementation patterns.
- 7+ years information technology experience.
- 5+ years software development experience.
- 3+ years integration development experience.
- Insurance, retail, investments and/or employee benefits experience highly advantageous.
- Any exposure / experience working with the IBM Banking Industry Models and Infosphere Data Architect (IDA) tool would be highly beneficial.
- Development and code review of developed reports, analysis, data Models and dashboards.
- Enterprise architecture/modelling tools.
- Kimball methodology.
- 3-5 years and/or relevant industry experience as well as experience in the Data Modelling discipline
- Able to demonstrate practical experience in relational and dimensional modelling techniques, OO modelling also an advantage
- Experience using Infosphere Data Architect or any other Data Modelling Tool
- Experience with industry models such as IFW BDW and FSDM
- Broad understanding of Data Management (DMBOK), systems development lifecycle methodologies and IT Architecture
- Relevant regulatory knowledge, and understanding of banking and financial services
- Data analysis: Applies data analysis, data modelling, and quality assurance techniques, based upon a detailed understanding of business processes, to establish, modify or maintain data structures and associated components (entity descriptions, relationship descriptions, attribute definitions). Advises database designers and other application development team members on the details of data structures and associated components.
- Data Modelling: Specialist knowledge of database concepts, object and data modelling techniques and design principles.

Qualification and Training:
- BSc (Computer Science) or BCom (Information Systems / Informatics) preferable.
- DAMA membership advantageous.
