PBT Group, leaders in Business Intelligence, has a requirement for a Data Scientist to join their team.

SKILLS REQUIRED:
- ETL, BI Reporting, SSIS, SAS, SAS Enterprise Miner, SAS Visual Analytics, PowerPivot, Enterprise Performance Management, Statistics (ANOVA, t-test, regression etc), Linear Programming, Simulations, Descriptive Analytics, Predictive Analytics, Diagnostic Analytics, Optimisation Analytics, Data Mining, Association Rules, Neural Networks, Decision Trees, Cluster Analysis, Sequential Patterns, Sequence Similarity.
- Understand concepts and processes behind Enterprise Performance Management, strategies, business objectives and focus areas. Understands how the Business Intelligence Analyst uses this information to design BI Solutions.
- Understand the business processes, underlying business rules and how organisational data supports the business.
- In-depth knowledge of BI environments, solutions and implementations.
- Advanced Analytics / Analytical Modelling. Must have in-depth knowledge of decision analysis and the techniques used in this field.
- In-depth knowledge of operational reseach and the techniques used in this field.
- Collect and analyse data and input from multiple external and internal sources and organise into actionable sales and marketing competitive information tools.
- Performs general statistical analysis, predictive modelling, forecasting and optimisation to solve complex business research problems.
- Solid Data Mining experience: Select, explore and model data to uncover previously unknown patterns. Look for common causal relationships in basket data. Formulate and apply rules that partition data into separate groups. Clustering data for information retrieval (text classification). Find frequently occurring patterns in big sets of data (basket analysis) and look for similar trends between different data sets.
- Good BI Reporting skills: Must have the ability to communicate the results of the analysis effectively to the line-of-business staff by presenting analytical results in a format that is understandable to Business Users and prompts decision making and action. Produce intelligence reports (obtain information from internal and external sources, assess the value and write reports).
- Retail Industry experience would be an advantage.
