Data Testing is a essential discipline to ensure that the intended business purpose after development has been met, while adhering to the technical requirements that form part of the Data Strategy.
The purpose of this position is to ensure adherence of new projects that affect data environment to internal Data Governance & Management Policy Framework by applying the relevant data testing
techniques, including regression testing, functional testing and unit testing.
Define scope of testing work
• Review and Analyse Business Requirements
• Develop Data Test scenarios in conjunction with the BIBA and Data Analyst for a given user story by following the below process:
• Collaborate with project teams to understand possible risks
• Develop appropriate tests to cover risks throughout the data lifecycle
• Work within the guidelines of the Enterprise Data Test and Data Quality principles, policies and standards
• Perform testing based on developed test cases
• Provide frequent feedback to project team regarding progress
• Influence development work based on test outcomes
• Document tests for audit trail and future reuse
Qualifications and Experiences
• Grade 12 with Mathematics with proven formal experience in QA testing
• SQL Query Language Experience OR Relevant tertiary qualification or degree (Computer Science)
• Practical experience with data testing tools and processes (including regression testing, unit testing and functional testing)
• Experience in a mainstream query language
• Understanding the full Systems Development Project Lifecycle (SDLC)
Ideal:
• 2 years data testing or similar level analysis experience
• Preference towards banking environment, with large-scale data experience
