Qualification:
Matric, OCP Certification and Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field

Skills & Experience:
5 to 10 years of relevant experience

Experience in:
Experience in Oracle 11 (Oracle 12 is advantageous)
Experience with Oracle ASM
Knowledge of Oracle Vault
Experience with Data Warehousing
Experience with relational database design and managing a database environment
Performance and query tuning
MySQL
Banking, Contact Centre or Telephony MIS experience (advantageous)

Core Tasks:
Some of your core responsibilities will be to increase operational efficiency and suggest solutions to enhance cost effectiveness, deliver exceptional service that exceeds customers’ expectations using a proactive, innovative and appropriate solutions approach for database performance and support database performance monitoring and tuning to ensure database availability and optimal performance at all times. The ideal candidate should be able to provide support to resolve data conflicts and inappropriate data usage that will result in optimum data performance as well as support the development and implementation of database backup and recovery.

Job Description:
As the Database Administrator, you will be required to manage the installation configuration upgrade, administration, monitoring, maintenance, production support and developer support of database environments. You should be able to effectively manage work relationships with a number of internal and external clients and effectively be able to ensure drafting and implementation of appropriate interventions, support the maintenance of the database backup and recovery plan and activities and monitor changes in legislation, regulations, initiatives and relevant industry practices.
