A well-established company within the IT industry based in Goodwood is looking to employ an experience and qualified Database Administrator, who is organized, accurate and performance-driven individual to join the Head Office team.
 
Main duties and responsibilities (but not limited to):
  • The successful candidate should have an keen interest in systems and databases and is willing grow their knowledge while providing  support to the business that values data and systems above all else. Thus the role requires occasional after hour support.
  • Administer Microsoft SQL Server database environments 
  • T-SQL Scripting and development on both new and existing functions
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application, database and data issues
  • Security maintenance of application and database
  • Maintenance and monitoring of SQL environment reporting results to the project team
  • Provide technical support and assistance to Application support team and 3rd Party vendors
  • Role involves application first line support however the main focus is database support
  • Backup setup and monitoring
 
Key Competencies & Requirements:
  • Relevant SQL certification
  • Minimum 2 years SQL database administration support experience
  • Minimum 2 years T-SQL Scripting experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2008 / 2012 / 2014 with database administration, including installation and troubleshooting issues
  • Knowledge of data manipulation scrubbing in SQL, Excel
  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve potential and real operations and system deficiencies to ensure continued and non-disrupted service to system users.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with technical and non-technical staff
  • Ability to independently work, meet deadlines, and follow up on assignments
  • Knowledge of Database Security
  • Backup and recovery experience advantageous
  • A good understanding of applications systems and ability to analyse data
  • Organized, accurate and professional

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Personality to be temperate, cooperative focused and has the ability to strictly control information
