PBT Group, leaders in Business Intelligece, is looking for a dynamic Database Architect and BI specialist who will be responsible for building the Data Analytics and Business Intelligence platform. The successful candidate will create derived calculations to build multidimensional database models, define ETL Architecture Standards and develop modelling strategies to ensure that the data warehouse is secure, scalable and performs reliably.
 
He/she will also be responsible for defining and implementing models, policies, rules and standards that govern which data is collected, and how it is stored, arranged, integrated, and put to use, and enforcing data standards for all its data systems as a vision or a model of the eventual interactions between those data systems.
 
DUTIES:

• Design and manage the Enterprise Data Model, including data dictionary/metadata registry
• Develop strategies for warehouse implementation, data acquisition, and archive recovery
• Implement the warehouse
• Evaluate new data sources for adherence to the organization's quality standards and ease of integration
• Develop and maintain documentation of the overall data architecture, data flows and data models
• Provide project requirements and time estimates
• Provide consultation on complex projects and act as a senior level contributor
• Provide direction on adoption of new technologies / best industry practices in data architecture and modelling
• Ensure that data solution architectures and designs are appropriately robust and address business, application, information and infrastructure architectural requirements
• Analyze the data and its relationships
• Share data definitions and policies across projects
• Govern big data based on business needs
• Deliver accurate, current data, with consistency across master data entities
• Manage data throughout its lifecycle
• Make high-value information continuously available to business

 
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• At least 6 years working experience with data in the financial services
• Extensive experience with a BI Stack
• 10+ years MS SQL experience
• 3+ years SSIS experience
• Experience with BI reporting tools like Business Objects, and data visualization and analytical tools
• Experience with any ETL tool.
• Advanced knowledge of database concepts, including SQL, Stored Procedures, Triggers, Indexes, Partitioning, Full Text, and tools for SQL Server 2000/2008/2012
• Graduate student in Accounting, Investment Management or Computer Science fields (with strong Mathematical/Accounting background or subject knowledge an advantage).
• Good communication skills
• Expert in design and development of relational data warehouses and OLTP systems
• Ability to design, develop and maintain complex SSAS cubes with a large volume of dimensions
• Advanced knowledge of SSRS
• Strong Knowledge of Normalisation
• Strong knowledge in MDX query language
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills
• Hands-on Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
• End-to-end data management experience and understanding of data warehouse concepts
• Advanced ETL Development experience
• Advanced BI Development experience.
• Ability to work under pressure, time management and to be able to multi-task multiple projects.
• Programming experience as per above. MS Office Suite, with Excel/Office integration an advantage
• Knowledge of Portfolio and Trade Management Systems a distinct advantage, and in particular InvestOne, Decalog and Bloomberg AIM
