DEMAND MANAGER – BUSINESS ANALYST – Cobra Krugersdorp

Purpose of the job:
To analyze and manage the demand planning of all product lines in the Sub Saharan market based on historical data, sales forecast and seasonal or regional factors. To investigate business needs and shortcomings in data quality, systems and processes and identify possible solutions to problems through systematic analysis and project management that is required for it to achieve strategic goals.

Job responsibilities will include, but would not be limited to:
• To analyze and manage the demand planning of all product lines in the Sub Saharan market based on historical data, sales forecast and seasonal or regional factors
• Produce and maintain an international forecast for all product categories using input from stats, branches and customers.
• Production forecast, projected sales, 3, 6 and 12 month forecast overall and specific ranges.
• Wholesalers attend forecast meetings nationally and assist regions in improving this forecast.
• Balance of customers 6 & 3 month forecast.
• Contracts road map – assists branches and use this info to improve the national forecast.
• Buying teams, co-ordinate information to improve stock availability and achieve best sales performances.
• To investigate business needs and shortcomings in data quality, systems and processes and identify possible solutions to problems through systematic analysis and project management that is required for it to achieve strategic goals.
• Total supply chain cost analysis, initiate and drive cost savings based on monthly analysed findings
• To maintain accurate SAGE stock records of stock in transit to and in all export warehouses
• Implement systems to ensure and maintain data quality in the relevant systems (SAGE, Middleware etc.)
• Verify the accuracy of stock records by co-ordinating and reconciling physical stock counts.
• Calculate nett realisable values of stock on a quarterly basis, principle lower of cost or NRV
• Manage, calculate, control, reconcile (Financials on SAGE) and report on claims, insurance and non insurance. Warehouse damages calculated at standard full-up costs including warehousing and storage, damaged at shipside / insurance. Claims arising from customer complaints, calculated at rate of exchange time of sale.
• Shipping and inventory analysis and total delivery costs
• Budgeting and forecasting for the warehousing and handling costs
• Product costing at plant level, costing of storage and handling (Using standard costing methods) to apportion costs to individual plants and comparing this to budgeted costs per ton
• Financial support to shipping in terms of budgets on freight and system vs actual tender comparisons, assisting and compiling stats for the freight tenders at division/discharge port level
• Report on variances, delivery costs compared to budget, explain measures to get below budget.

Qualifications and Experience Required:
• Relevant Bsc Computer Science Degree or Bcom Informatics, Management
• Diploma in Business Analysis Desirable
• Other national certificate in business management or IT-related field
• MBA advantageous

Working Knowledge Required:
• 5 Years as Demand manager or Business Analyst in Engineering/Manufacturing/Industrial/Factory Environment
• 5 Years working with SAGE ERP
• 2-3 Years working with bill of materials and requirements analysis
• 2-3 Years cost analysis of engineered products
• 2-3 Years working in and leading X-functional teams
• Computer system: SAGE; Microsoft Excel, Access & Word, MS Project, MS Power point, Visio
• SABS Quality System ISO 9000
• Business process modelling
• Forecast analysis and demand planning of a large international operating manufacturing business
• User acceptance testing and enterprise environment /deployment
• Business consulting and report writing for an executive level
