Demand Planner

Area: Edenvale, Gauteng

Salary: Highly negotiable for the right applicant.

Key Responsibilities
A clear understanding and working knowledge of Demand Planning duties, in which the following will have to be executed:
• Ability to analyse and interpret data .
• Weekly follow-up on planning versus execution, while taking tactic actions in terms of sales or supply.
• Preparing, updating and analysing Score Card measures that measure: projection accuracy of data, stock level, identification of inefficient stock (slow moving stock and dead stock) and level of service.
• identifying exceptions and producing learning events, determining what to conserve and what to improve for future similar incidents.
• Analyzing and identifying ineffective stock and leading a process to handle ineffective stock.
• Producing a statistic projection and identifying static exceptions.
• Updating and maintaining the main projection file which includes the projection data and Reality Checks.
• Updating and maintaining assumption database.
• Conducting Root cause analysis.
• Meeting goals in sales projection accuracy, level of service, ineffective stock.
• Analyzing and processing immense complex information and formulating from it a situation report that allows decision-making.
• Managing database regarding the product portfolio which is in the planner’s responsibility.
• Influencing the team without having managerial authority.
• Making decisions in uncertain circumstances.

Position Requirements
• Matric and a 3 years relevant tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics such as a B.Comm or B.Sc degree.
• A clear understanding and proven working knowledge of the Demand Planning function, with a minimum of 3-5 years solid Demand Planning experience.
• Must have FMCG experience.
• Fully computer literate (MS Office).
• Proven working experience on Advanced Excel in order to analyse non-standard databases and creation of non-standard reporting tools.
• Excellent attention to detail, deadline driven and the ability to work under pressure in complex situations.
• Above average communication and interpersonal skills and ability to handle conflict.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills and a high level of follow through.
• Ability to work independently and interact as part of a team.
• Ability to interact and communicate with departments within the organisation as well as external service providers.
• Willing to travel and work beyond normal work hours, if and when required.
• Valid SA driver’s license.
