OverviewMy client a well known bust Restaurant in Sandton is looking for a well-qualified Demi Chef / Production Line Chef to join the established and professional Kitchen Brigade.Requirements
At least 2 year’s work experience in 4 or 5 star environment
At least 1 years’ experience in well-known al a carte kitchen
Should have held a similar position or training knowledge thereof
Good staff and peer skills
Good organization skills for a busy kitchen environment
Good understanding of HACCP
Qualifications
Minimum Std. 10 (Grade 12)
Tertiary Culinary Arts qualification
Excellent Communication Skills
Key Areas of Responsibility
Will be an integral part of a busy a la carte service line, in the kitchen with 5* standards as set out
Will work shifts
Will have thorough knowledge of all Restaurant menus offered
Assist in implementing new menu’s
Maintain the highest standard of personal hygiene and ensure that hygiene levels are maintained at all times and adhered to.
Good interpersonal skills with strong team building activities
Check on an maintain daily MEP of al a carte produce
Excellent stock controls skills & knowledge
Menu & food costing ability
To ensure maximum guest satisfaction by managing and maintaining an effective section in the kitchen production line
Able to talk to guests and suggest menu items & hands on solving of guests complaints
Create a sense of teamwork within the kitchen.
Responsible to operate within the policies and procedures as set out in the operating manual.
Ensure that standards are maintained within the kitchen and own department at all times.
Assist in managing costs & maintaining a high standard of service, presentation and efficiency.
This Position Reports to the Chef De Partie / Sous chef on duty/ executive sous / executive chef
