Department Manager – Bellville (RETAIL GARDEN CENTRE)

Multi Award Winning Nursery-Stodels is looking for a dynamic, physically fit Retail Department Manager to head up a department at the Bellville Garden Centre. The position will report directly to the Branch Manager.

Main duties:
• Managing department Profitability
• Report analysis (slow movers, dead stock)
• Management & Development of staff
• Stock management
• Ensuring that merchandising & displays are of a high standard
• Driving a high level of customer service
• Effective stock management and optimize branch layout opportunities
• Implementing promotions

Requirements
• 3 years experience in Retail Management
• Minimum of Matric or equivalent
• Computer literate
• Excellent negotiation skills
• Proven leadership abilities and management of staff
• Must be self motivated and assertive
• A successful track record in sales, profit management, stock management including purchase management, merchandise control, tactical and strategic planning.
• Must be organised, efficient and assertive with strong communication skills on all levels
• Own transport is required
