A well establish Environmental management Company requires an individual with supervisory experience to occupy the role of a Depot/Logistics Supervisor. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing operations and staff through ensuring optimum utilisation and performance in compliance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and maximize the efficient utilization of the fleet and equipment.
  • Manage staff and assets in line with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Manage day to day operations in line with relevant policies and procedures.

Fleet Management

  • Ensure profitable utilization of equipment and staff – achieve high levels of utilization
  • Manage overtime within legal limits
  • Report any fleet maintenance requirements to the Maintenance department
  • Ensure fleet uptime (reduce downtime and breakdowns)
  • Ensure vehicles are roadworthy and that all relevant licenses/permits/accreditations remain up to date
  • Ensure vehicle inspections are carried out, defects are reported to workshop and defected vehicles are not operated

Human Resources

  • Address vehicle abuse and other driver/assistant/employee misconduct via the disciplinary procedure
  • Apply discipline and performance management
  • Manage leave
  • Control clock hours and absenteeism
  • Report training requirements and keep control of training schedules

Integrated SHEQ Management

  • Manage all incident and accident investigations and reports in line with SHEQ department.

Operations Management

  • Manage supervisor and staff in ensuring smooth daily operations.
  • Ensure daily manifest entries are captured and closed in conjunction with weighbridge
  • Ensure that there is bin availability.
  • Ensure that the cleaning and maintenance of the bins are done.
  • Weekly and monthly reports, including but not limited to, bin reports, fleet utilisation, services and maintenance.
  • Ordering of stock and spares.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Matric
  • Logistics diploma or any related qualification
  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience within a logistics operational environment
  • Good communication skills
  • Good computer skills
  • Disciplinary and IR experience
