This independent organisation examines medical doctors and dentists undergoing postgraduate training. This includes doctors undergoing specialist training. There are currently 28 different colleges, each representing a different specialty.
The candidate will report to the Academic Registrar who reports to the CEO. Knowledge and experience in similar institutions in the following areas are a prerequisite:
1. Evaluation systems.
2. The management of staff in Gauteng branch.
3. Strong communication skills with in-depth knowledge of the English language, including exceptional writing skills.
4. Liaising with both examiners and candidates in a professional manner.
5. Liaising with medical and dental deans and training institutions regarding CMSA examinations.
6. Liaising with all 28 constituent Colleges regarding the academic matters, appointing of examiner panels. Be able to lead workshops relevant to post-graduate medical education.
7. Liaising with the HPCSA at Board level.
8. Statistical background.
9. Interpretation of codes, policies and rules of the Academic office and implementation of same.
10. Format of meetings and the writing of reports to the CEO, Board of Directors and Senate.
11. Management of all risk items identified by the Examinations and Credentials Committee, Risk Committee and the CEO, including reputational and institutional risk around the Academic Office.
12. Financial accountability to the Financial Director.
13. Liaising with webmaster and programmers regarding the CMSA webpage, Marks System and all data bases.
14. Exceptional computer skills in all Microsoft Office packages.
Applicants should have a managerial background with a relevant tertiary qualification
