A growing Cape Town based company that provides stock management and data services to the retail industry is seeking to employ an IT Technician to program devices and provide desktop support to clients. This position must be filled immediately.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The basic tasks and responsibilities for this role include the following:

Desktop maintenance
Software updates
Configuration of routers and wireless access points
Remote and onsite desktop support (software, hardware and networks)
Setup and configuration of new keyboard PCs, laptops etc
Assist with the maintenance of network infrastructure
Troubleshooting

Professional Characteristics:

An energetic, young (20 to 30 year old) extrovert, detail focussed, self-motivated individual is required to provide the drive for this all-rounders role. The ideal person believes that things must be done correctly the first time and manages their time & resources to deliver on time. Must be able to perform in a team, as well as individually. Must be well spoken in both English & Afrikaans.

EXPERIENCE NEEDED:

Microsoft Networks
TCP / IP fundamentals
Setting up of wireless access points
Setting up of ADSL routers
LAN cabling and termination
IP telephone system
Microsoft Office packages
Windows 7

REQUIRED:

Must have a drivers license and own car and non smoker.
