Development Chemist (G460)
*BSc Hons (Chemistry) though MSc or PhD (Chemistry) will be preferred. Any industry experience will be highly advantageous.*

Location: Johannesburg

Description: A supplier of surfactants and chemical raw materials for a broad range of applications requires a Development Chemist to join their team. The successful candidate will be required to: develop new products and develop new synthetic strategies in the laboratory; be pro-active in terms of doing literature searches and compile evaluations of existing technologies that are relevant; facilitate effective transfer of new products and technologies from laboratory to plant to customer; participate in the commissioning of products on the technologies from laboratory at the customers; visit customers and provide technical support; cooperate closely with the business team to develop new business and achieve targets; be pro-active in preparing reports and communicating information effectively; manage customer complaints from origin through to recommending preventative actions and follow-up feedback; manager and coordinate QC functions related to products.
Key Requirements: BSc Hons (Chemistry) though MSc or PhD (Chemistry) will be preferred. Any industry experience will be highly advantageous.
Additional Requirements: Excellent report writing skills; Good communication skills; Innovative, pro-active and creative; Planning and organizing skills; Attention to detail.

Remuneration: Market related
