Star For Life (SFL) is a non-profit organisation with the mission to inspire young
people to value learning, acquire the knowledge and skills they need for productive
work, and live healthy and meaningful lives. SFL has developed a unique set of
programmes and workshops that we are currently running in 102 Schools in
South Africa and Namibia to add value to the regular Life Orientation curriculum. Our
method empowers learners with self-esteem and internal incentives to adopt positive
Attitudes and constructive behaviours. A new project Daughters of Africa is assisting SFL to focus on Girls empowerment through entrepreneurship skills among other things. SFL has an opportunity for a Project Facilitator position, among other things will be responsible for facilitating the Entrepreneurship activities for DoA Girls Clubs in SFL schools.

1. Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop entrepreneurship skills among girls and facilitate the practical implementation.
• Conduct Career Guidance workshops for learners.
• Facilitate Entrepreneurship workshops to Grade 11 learners.
• Assist out of school youth around UMkhanyakude district in establishing their businesses.
• Facilitate entrepreneurship workshops with the out of schools youth around UMkhanyakude district.
• Manage the relationship between SFL and various stakeholders in the Economic Development and SMME sectors.
• Facilitate the business start-up process and provide continuous support.
• Support the program Monitoring and Evaluation with relevant data and statistics.

2. Education Requirements
• Matric + Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Entrepreneurship or Community Development.
• Valid driver’s license
• Fluency in English and other official language
• Exposure or background in SMME support or development

3. Skills required
• Ability to work with youth
• Ability to follow instructions
• Good communication skills
• Good report writing skills
