Our client is a market leader in the information technology industry and has a vacancy for an enthusiastic and passionate DevOps Engineer. The office is based in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town.
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about technology to serve client requirements. passionate about programming, open source technologies and IT in general. You should prefer agile development and a self-organising team environment.
Salary package is negotiable, based on current / previous earnings.
Requirements include:
• Strong background in Linux / Unix Administration.
• Experience with infrastructure as code practices.
• Strong experience with MySQL.
• Working understanding of code and script (Ruby, PHP, Python) with strong shell scripting.
• Understanding of SCM Systems and Git / Gitlab.
• Experience in Cloud infrastructure (Openstack or equivalent)
• Experience with Docker.
• Experience with monitoring and alerts (ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana)
Qualifications preferred, will be BSC or BTech majoring in Computer Science, but your ability and in-depth understanding of web technologies and great software engineering practices, will trump a formal qualification.
