My client’s Medical Mobile Facility is a Rural Outreach program that will initially be delivered in the Free State (Qwa-qwa District) with multipurpose Mobile Medical Units. The Mobile Clinic serves to deliver healthcare at doorsteps by providing clinical, diagnostic and therapeutic care; it will also serve as an instrument to create health awareness amongst population.
My client seeks to appoint an experienced full-time DIAGNOSTIC RADIOGRAPHER to be part of a medical team of a Mobile Medical Service Unit (MMSU) for the screening of the community, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up. Duties include: To effectively undertake radiographic procedures and produce diagnostic radio-graphs in accordance with prescribed protocols, radiation control measures and medico-legal requirements. Assessing patients and their clinical requirements to determine appropriate radiographic techniques. Observing and maintaining contact with patients during their waiting, examination and post-examination stay in the Unit. Taking responsibility for radiation safety in the work area including checking equipment for malfunctions/ errors, managing referrals to ensure patients receive a radiation dose as low as reasonably possible and safely supervising patients in radiation work areas. To assist trainee radiographers to develop radiographic and other relevant skills. To maintain the equipment as prescribed by Radiation Control Board and keep the data record for regulatory check and certification. To ensure the patient rights according to National Patient’s Rights Charter. To ensure optimal patient care according to the Batho Pele principles. Participate and facilitate in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) as required by the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). To maintain the equipment as prescribed by equipment manufacturer and adhere to Quality Assurance (QA) in the area of work. To manage the data as per prescribed protocol and in the format started in Clinical Management Software.
Professional Responsibilities: B Rad / National Diploma: Radiography Diagnostic. 5-7 years’ experience in Radiography. Registered with valid Professional Indemnity. Knowledge of digital equipment, its management and maintenance. Good computer skills. Valid driving license. Should be able to work independently as well as in a medical team. Candidate must be registered or be eligible for registration with the HPCSA as a Diagnostic Radiographer. Salary dependent on qualifications and experience.
