Location: Johannesburg, Gauteng

Description: A company who specialise in laboratory instrumentation and consumables requires Diagnostic Unit Sales Manager for their Diagnostic Division. The successful candidate will report to the Managing Director. The purpose of this job is to manage the business unit in order to set and meet company targets for retention, growth and profitability. This would include planning and implementation of sales and marketing activities, in collaborating with the marketing department; strategizing on business unit focus and direction; incorporating company procedures and policies in operations of business unit; monitoring and reviewing project activities to ensure its completion within scheduled time and budget; mentoring staff and motivating them to perform efficiently; administration related to staff management; monitoring inventory; setting up and maintaining budget forecasts and performance; interacting with other business unit managers and sales manager in order to create coherence in vision for the company, etc. The Business Unit Manager is ultimately responsible for all activities defined within the Business Unit, inclusive of the related Product Managers, Service Engineers and Product Specialists.

Key Requirements: BSc in Life Sciences/Molecular/Biomedical or related with 3-5 years’ experience in related laboratory environment. 5 years sales experience and 3 years’ experience in sales management position. Valid South African ID and passport. Valid driver’s license and own vehicle. Communicate effectively in English (written and verbal).

Additional Requirements: Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook and a clear focus on high quality and business profit. Strong detail orientation and communication/listening skills. Able to get on with others and be a team-player. Effectively present information to top management and/or board of directors. Proficient in MS Office suite of applications, Internet and email.

Remuneration: Market related.
