Diesel Mechanic – Earthmoving Plant & Equipment (Pinetown, Durban)

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, responsible for effective repairs and maintenance of the Company Earthmoving Plant and equipment.

Experience / Qualifications

- Trade tested Mechanic qualification
- At least 5 years’ Previous experience as a trade tested mechanic
- Basic knowledge of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulics
- Bilingualism, of which English is one language spoken and written
- Code 10/14 Drivers licence

Advantageous:

- Previous experience in a similar environment/ with similar equipment

- The Ability to effectively identify and solve mechanical problems (fault finding)

- Ability to maintain high work standards
- Physically fit (the ability to perform physically demanding work)
- Flexibility (adaptability in terms of irregular working hours and travel/working away from home – required to do repairs on site, sometimes staying on site for a few days until repairs are complete)
