Our client, a leading Diamond Mining Group is looking for an experienced and qualified Diesel Mechanic at their facility in Cullinan just outside Pretoria.

Cullinan Diamond Mine is situated in the town of Cullinan 30km east from Pretoria.

Job Grade: C2T

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Maintain and inspect equipment according to OEM, Mine Health and Safety Act and prescribed performance
requirements.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
Attend to machinery breakdowns
Detect and diagnose faults in machines and parts
Diagnose and test parts with the assistance of computers
Dismantle and remove machine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components and check parts
Inspect components and equipment for defects and report deviations
Perform planned maintenance, inspections and relevant tests on equipment
Perform risk assessments (Activity based and Mini)
Responsible for trade related administration
Assemble machine components and fit parts after being repaired
Responsible for performing lock outs
Service machinery for optimal availability and performance
Conduct on-the-job training for allocated apprentices
Responsible for the management of consumable stock levels (amongst others, spares and hydro carbons)
Must be able to work shifts, overtime and be able to do standby, callouts
Ensure compliance to Statutory requirements, Mine Policies, Procedures and Codes of Practice

Minimum Requirements:
N2 Certificate
Qualified Diesel Mechanic Trade Certificate through a recognised apprenticeship**
Valid driver’s license
3 years post apprenticeship experience

** Candidates holding a QCTO (Section 26D) Trade Test, where the learning route is not specified on the Certificate, must submit the
following: Statement of results issued by an accredited MQA trade test centre as well as evidence of training conducted at a technical
training centre (e.g. Portfolio of Evidence, Logbooks). Should these documents not be submitted the application will not be considered.
Candidates holding S28 Trade Test certificates from non-Mining Sector centres will not be considered.

Pass Vienna Assessment (level 2) – this assessment will be done on Mine
