Our commercial dealer client is looking to employ an experienced EE diesel mechanic based in George.

Line of Reporting: Service Manager

Key performance areas: (Not Totally Inclusive)
Accurately diagnose faults found and reported on a vehicle (trouble shooting)
Carry out servicing and repairs to vehicles in an efficient manner to ensure that the vehicles do not return to the workshop with the same fault
Conduct servicing according to the brand specifications and service sheet
Ensure workshop quality, safety and security procedures are adhered to at all times
Report any vehicle faults other than those on the job card
Work accurately and timeously to achieve both efficiency and productivity to the required standards
Conduct road tests on repaired vehicles as and when needed.

Minimum qualification and experience / skills required
Must have Grade 12 / N3 and possess a Diesel Mechanic trade test certificate, possession of a dual trade is highly advantegeous
Must have at least 5 years post trade experience in the heavy commercial vehicles industry
with good electrical knowledge and experience being advantageous
Must have worked on heavy commercial vehicles
Must possess a valid EC or EC1 drivers license to conduct road tests on vehicles
Must be Computer literate
Must be prepared to work overtime and standby duties
