Distribution Manager – Logistics / Distribution – Epping, Cape Town

Well Established Company is looking for a Distribution Manager to Manage the Cape Town distribution centre and liaise with management to deliver improved business process structure, efficiency and financial performance

Minimum Requirement:
• Matric, with Distribution or Logistics qualification will be an advantage
• 5-10 years’ experience in Distribution
• 3+ years’ experience as Distribution Manager
• Strong verbal and written and communication skills
• Organised and able to manage multiple and conflicting objectives to timescales and deadlines
• Creative and flexible approach to problem solving
• Ability to work under pressure
• Approachable with excellent interpersonal skills, when dealing with all levels of staff.
• Self-motivated
• Ability to travel between sites as and when required
• Willingness to work flexible hours that may be required from time to time
• Reliable – Responsible for operation

Key Responsibilities
• Client liaison
• Customer visits
• Growing the customer base
• Growing the product range within new & existing customer base
• Stock Control
• Monthly Stock Takes
• Managing the supply chain in relation to demand & inventory levels
• Distribution of stock to customers
• Receiving of goods from suppliers
• Ordering inventory from the factory
• Co-ordinate Inter branch transfers
• Manage 7 wage employees
• Ensure feedback and regular status updates to management
• Ensure all audit requirements are met
• Audit business processes and identify opportunities for efficiency / cost improvements either as directed by management
or using own initiative
• To participate as an effective and willing team member in order to achieve the business goals
• To undertake any task as reasonably requested by the management team that is commensurate with the role
