Distribution Manager

Location: Centurion, Pretoria
Salary: R350k – R500k pa (Benefits: Medical Aid, Provident)

Requirements:
Matric
Minimum of 8-10 years FMCG logistics (warehousing and distribution) experience essential
Operations, Planning, Distribution & Reporting related experience
Relevant tertiary qualification or studying towards one would be advantageous, not essential
Microsoft Word & Excel – Advanced
Own Transport essential
Flexibility to work long hours
Must be able to work under pressure
Problem Solving and Thinking laterally as part of a team
Dynamic, innovative and structured individual
Excellent written and verbal communicational skills
Ability to work within a team

Duties:
Update the service schedule weekly
Update the TAR OB event book daily and corrective action
Daily petty cash balancing and submit for pay-out
Briefing Dayshift Ops Team Leader, Fleet Controller and Tracking Controller regarding Operations for the day
Addressing all Employer/client related queries daily
Oversee National distribution (Operations, Reporting, Analysis)
Submit operational reports as required by internal and external clients
Implementations, based on data analysis
Routes, vehicle utilization & service optimization
Maintain all consolidated databases relevant to various contracts (orders, fleet, maintenance, performance)
Submission of daily reports to Contracts manager
Ensure the communication is initiated with stores w.r.t delivery times and extensions
Clocking in and out on the machine, ensure PPE is used always whilst at the clients premises
Ensuring that tail lift mag-lock is activated and manual opening is not possible
Random alcohol testing on employees on site
Manage employee attendance and absenteeism
Ensure smooth handling of all activity
Signing off on employee leave requests
Enforce disciplinary action on site
Weekly driver and operational meetings
Ensure weekly wages checked, signed off and submitted to payroll department
Volume analysis to be done for local and country stores every quarter
Monthly invoicing
Weekly overtime and special trip invoicing
Weekly service review meeting with customer
Dispatching of local and country vehicles daily
Ad hoc tasks as required
