Donor Development Manager

A dynamic Non-Profit Organisation that provides holistic support to Children country wide who are suffering with life-threatening blood disorders and cancer is currently looking to employ a dynamic, driven and passionate Donor Development Manager.

To support the growth and development by creating and implementing a Donor Development Strategy. To develop, maintain and increase funding through current network contacts, influential executive, and new donor development.

Education, Training, Skills and Experience
• Honours / Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
• Minimum of 5 years donor development, donor fundraising within the NGO environment
• Experience working with donor driven programmes in the South African context
• Experience in donor funded programmes
• Experience in individual donor development, networking with influential people / Executives and major gift solicitation.
• In-depth understanding of donor databases on the CRM platform
• MUST already have a network of donors, influential and connected individuals
• Strong leadership skills to manage a team, develop, participate with board members
• The capacity to develop and maintain positive and productive relationships
• Knowledge of Cancer, Blood disorders. ( HIV/AIDS advantage)
• Strong Planning Skills, set priorities, meet deadlines, participate various and ensure functions run smoothly
• Proven ability of managing relationships with senior and executive / board level representatives of private sector companies
• Innovative and creative approach to bringing new business to organisations
• Demonstrated understanding of organisational financial reports as well as project and programme budgets
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

• This job will require face to face meetings, which may involve travel, and attendance at events during the evenings and at weekends.

• Manage a portfolio of individual relationships
• To develop and implement bequests and planned gifts strategy
• Develop a strategy of transitioning occasional donors to regulator donors
• Develop fundraising budget
• Develop and ensure donor data management and donor tracking, care systems are in place and effectively used
• Maintain a leading role with the company nationally, provide leadership and guidance to all regions in donor development for the organization
• Able to assist with outreach and speaking engagement if needed
