Manufacturing environment – drawings: sheetmetal (mostly) & electrical

Salary: R12k - 15k pm – negotiable with the experience

Job Description
• Responsible for handling all ECR’s (Engineering Change Requests) and documenting the changes i.e. updates of – system & drawings / update of filing system etc.
• Assist the Design Engineers with certain tasks and projects.
• Responsible for the general housekeeping (5S’s) of his/her section, as well as the relevant S.H.E. (Safety, Health & Environmental) issues.

Responsibilities:
1. Handle all the ECR’s and update the ECR register accordingly to ensure that a proper track record is maintained.
2. For all ECR changes the BOM (Bill of Material) must be amended
3. Assist the Design Engineers in creating / amending instruction manuals. This incl. “Exploded diagrams”, Line Drawings, Wiring Diagrams, Serial Plate Data, and recommended Spares.
4. Create new drawings for new products & edit existing drawings where applicable. Get the applicable sign off from the relevant persons for all drawing changes, as well as drawings for new products.
5. Develop product bulletins and cut sheets that will be useful to communicate specific information to the customers & dealers.
6. Do all applicable filing to ensure that the current system is updated at all times and that the Workshop has easy access to the relevant documentation.
7. The proposed changes must be done in accordance with the ISO standards
8. 5 S’s Housekeeping (Select/ Sort/ Stack/ Sweep/ Start) & ensure that your relevant portions of the environment where you work are clean & safe
9. Accurate and up to date administrations

Essential Requirements
• Matric + relevant experience
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in similar role – A MUST
• MS Office & CAD packages (i.e. Solid Work)
• Strong administrative skills
• Sound understanding of :
? Sheet metal designs, gas heating systems, and general electric controls
? Company policies & procedures
? Health & Safety rules and regulations
? Standing Operational Procedures applicable
• Work extended hours are considered necessary.
