Driver / Messenger

Job Purpose
Provide a professional driver and messenger service to the organisation and assist departments where necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide driving/messenger services
• Maintain accurate and up to date schedule trip sheets; i.e. log official trips, daily mileage, fuel consumption
• Perform daily trip and post trip vehicle inspection to ensure that the vehicle is in the best condition at all times
• Handle routine and ad-hoc administrative tasks relevant to the execution of the function; i.e. collect office consumables
• Collect, distribute and control movement of documents
• Ensure proper and secure control over movement of documents
• Report incidents and accidents timeously and compile vehicle condition reports and other records required by Management
• Coordinate and liaise with Facilities Management to ensure that minor/major vehicle maintenance are carried out.
• Assist the facilities team on any work that requires manpower when necessary

Health and Safety
• Keep work area clean and presentable.
• Maintain tools and equipment and keep parts and supplies in order.
• Ensure that best operating practice is applied when undertaking any maintenance tasks/ repairs within the Health & Safety regulations.
• Adhere the organisation’s Health and Safety requirements at all times
Customers Service
• Ensure that Customers are treated with respect.
• Ability to maintain good relationships with school personnel, students, and the general public.
• Ensure that feedback is given to customers on completion of work.
• Walk the extra mile to ensure customer’s need has been addressed.
• Maintenance done as per standard Sci-Bono procedures
Minimum requirements
1.1 Education
• Matric
• Must have valid code 8 or 10 driver’s license.
• PDP
1.2 Relevant work experience
• Three years’ driving/messenger service
• Clear driving record
• Good Computer skills
1.3 Required competencies (skills, knowledge and behavioral attributes)
• Basic plumbing, electrical and other services (would be an added advantage )
• Computer proficiency
• Use of tools and workshop skills
