Job Purpose:
To lecture and contribute to curriculum development in Horticultural Sciences, while providing support to the Department in pursuit of its objectives in teaching and learning, work integrated learning, research, and community engagement.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
• A Master's Degree in Horticulture (Ornamental) or an equivalent field qualification
• Base qualification: Horticulture
• At least two years' relevant working experience, one of which must be in teaching
Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities:
• Teach the subjects: Plant Material Studies, Ornamental Horticulture and Language Skills
• Perform appropriate academic and administrative duties in the Department
• Participate in curriculum development
• Perform student assessment
• Participate in research
• Participate in the Quality Assurance activities of the Department
• Monitor and assess work integrated learning
• Develop and maintain linkages with industry and professional bodies
• Assist with marketing and recruitment activities
• Perform other functions as may be assigned by the Head of Department
