ICT Vendor Manager

Our client is currently seeking to recruit an ICT Vendor Manager.

Summary of the position

Vendors play an integral role in the delivery of services to our Clients. The ICT Vendor Manager role will be responsible for managing ICT Vendors throughout the full life cycle from selection and on-going management through to termination. Building on the existing Vendor Management framework the role will maximise the value derived from vendors through improved selection, more complete on-boarding of vendors, regular review of vendor service levels and performance, increased governance and communication. The role will be required to work extensively with key Product and Central Service stakeholders across the company to achieve objectives.


Outline of main duties and responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and appropriate governance throughout the vendor life cycle;
  • Facilitate the selection of ICT vendors through a defined and auditable process to ensure fair and viable best fit against the company’s requirements;
  • Develop and enforce standard processes with clear guidelines to manage expectations between the company  and it’s vendors;
  • Formalize engagement and practices to track, measure and manage vendor performance;
  •  Enhance and apply the Vendor Management Framework to ensure a consistent approach to vendors based on their strategic value, significance and risk to the organization;
  • Reduce vendor contract non-compliance through establishment of appropriate evaluation criteria and control mechanisms;
  • Financial management of vendors with appropriate controls and authority levels;
  • Develop a new source of innovation through vendor collaboration and industry insights;
  • Perform or facilitate vendor dispute resolution;
  • Oversee vendor contract termination/renewals/modifications;
  • Own the relevant Vendor Policies, Processes and Governance;
  • Ensure appropriate Security, Risk and Compliance by vendors;
  • Work with key stakeholders to develop and deliver on vendor strategies for the benefit of the company; and Improve Vendor Maturity levels across the group and manage vendor risk levels to an optimum level. 


Skills and experience required

  • Bachelor’s Degree;
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of vendor management experience;
  • An understanding of Financial Services and in particular the role and functions of administrators;
  • Project management experience is a plus;
  • Ability to effectively operate across diverse cross functional groups and geographic regions;
  • Ability to identify, analyse and resolve issues proactively before they impact the organization;
  •  Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments simultaneously;
  • Knowledge of appropriate frameworks such as CoBIT 5 and audit requirements such as ISAE3402;
  • Well organized, strong administrative and detail oriented skills;
  • Strong understanding and proven experience regarding legal aspects of contracting with vendors;
  • Good interpersonal, communication, negotiation and analytical skills; and
  • Strong written, oral communication and presentation skills required.


Reporting structure

The ICT Vendor Manager will report to the ICT Service Manager.
