ELECTRICAL DESIGNER – PAARL

Salary: R300 000 – R400 000 CTC p.a. negotiable based on experience.

A leading supplier of packaging solutions based in Paarl, has an opportunity for a qualified ELECTRICAL DESIGNER to join their team at their Head Office. The successful incumbent will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Electrical Design and have excellent knowledge of Electrical of Design.

Requirements and skills:
• Minimum qualification: Diploma in Electrical Engineering –degree would be advantageous.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in electrical and automation design.
• Very good knowledge and understanding of Siemens TIA Portal as well as other software packages.
• Knowledge of E-plan P8 will be advantageous.
• General high level of computer hardware, operating system and communication knowledge.
• Must be computer literate in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook.
• Must have the ability to work independently as well as function within a team.
• Must be able to travel both nationally and internationally.
• A positive attitude, self-motivated and reliable.

Key Responsibilities:
• Designs electrical sub-assemblies and systems for machines in such a way that the design meets specific standards and criteria.
• Produces detailed technical drawings and control programs in accordance with acknowledged manufacturing standards.
• Updates all relevant documentation to “as built” status on completion of the machine.
• Ensures that electrical and control information in the handbook is complete and up to date.
• Provides technical support during building processes, after-sales support, support on imported machines and technical support for customers and technicians on-site.
