Electrical Energy Consultant – CAPE TOWN (Permanent). International engineering firm requires a Renewable Energy and Power Generation Consultant. Must have a B.Eng (Electrical), technical knowledge of solar and wind renewable energy generation technologies and 4 years’ experience working on projects relating to the energy sector. ROLE:
To support the growth, development and effectiveness of the South Africa Energy Consulting business by assisting with business development, conducting both electrical and general renewable energy technical studies, due diligence assessments and designs relevant to the renewable energy sector.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• B.Eng Electrical engineering
• Basic technical knowledge of solar and wind renewable energy generation technologies.
• At least 3 - 4 years experience of working on projects relating to the energy sector.
• Basic exposure to commercial feasibility assessment process.
• Excellent technical report writing and presentation skills.
• Basic engineering drawing skills.
• Good understanding of the South Africa power sector.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and Powerpoint.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conducting technical research, due diligence assessments, designs and feasibility studies relating to renewable energy systems at various scales – building, community, power station – utilizing MS Excel and proprietary software.
• Undertaking of design of renewable energy systems, particularly PV and wind.
• Assessing the business case for building integrated PV service offering in South Africa and developing an outline business development plan.
• Providing general support to team leaders with respect to preparation and delivery of bids and proposals.
• Attending client meetings and conducting field work.
• Writing technical reports & presentations.
