Electrical Engineer – BEng Solar PV Design & Construction
Johannesburg – Gauteng – Travelling (local and Africa Continent
Annual CTC 650,000 – R 750 000.00 ZAR max.

We are looking for an electrical engineer with solar PV design and construction experience, to be based in Johannesburg (preferably with SA citizen) but working throughout the southern/east African region. Must be willing to travel and spend time on site.

The key requirement is solid plant construction / project implementation experience with solar PV projects up to 50MWp. Candidates should have an Engineering Degree (essential – BEng BSc or higher) , as well as experience with resource assessment, plant design (using PVSyst) and pricing, and preparation of proposals in response to public tenders. Business development experience will be an advantage, but not essential. We are not looking for a younger engineer with solid technical knowledge and experience, who can grow with the company.

• Consulting/advisory services
o Resource assessments
o Preparation of bid/proposal documents
o Feasibility and due diligence studies
o Modelling, design and optimisation of solar PV systems, using PVSyst or similar software
o Pricing of solar PV systems
o Report writing
o Market research

• Owners Engineer
o Project management
o Cost control and reporting
o Preparation of specifications and tender documents
o Procurement of EPC contractors, contract negotiations
o Construction supervision
o Plant commissioning
