Ensure smooth and efficient maintenance operation of Cape Town factory
Perform other tasks around plant improvement as specified by the Electrical Engineer and Engineering Manager
Maintain a high standard of discipline and adherence to company procedures and required safety standards
Enforce corrective discipline where required
Minimize plant downtime by ensuring effective and efficient maintenance is carried out
Create and review maintenance schedules for all equipment in the section and ensure that these schedules are maintained
Inspect all sections of the plant frequently and to assess demands that will be made on the electrical section and action plans accordingly
Ensure high quality of maintenance through people development and supervision of assigned tasks
To do fault finding and root cause analysis on problem equipment and to improve plant efficiency by optimising the available equipment
To identify improvements in the process that could be made by modifying or replacement of plant and to bring such information to the attention of management
To inform plant management of all situations or conditions that could result in downtime and to take all such remedial action as is necessary to minimise downtime as a result thereof.
Train all members of the section to the required work standards
Negotiate, in the company’s interests, with suppliers of equipment and services. Ensuring that proper specifications are given to such suppliers, and that work done by such is of the required standard
Lead project teams to ensure improvement projects are completed timeously
Coaching and Mentoring of staff to ensure efficient operation of maintenance department
Management of electrical spares and ordering of materials/ parts required for maintenance tasks
Inspection and certification of all electrical installations and equipment, both fixed and portable
Standby support for shift electricians

REQUIREMENTS
Ideally you will possess the following:
Minimum level of N.T.C 3
Passed trade test as an Electrician
Wireman’s licence
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a 24 hour automated manufacturing plant (electrical and C&I maintenance)
WCM, lean manufacturing, TPM or equivalent experience
Proven root cause analysis experience
Minimum 3 years’ supervisory experience
Electro-mechanical equipment installation experience (projects)
PLC programming and SCADA operation experience
Computer literacy essential
Ability to interact and communicate effectively on all levels, including written (report writing)
