MISSIONS
Within the framework of the department’s objectives and yearly action plans, his/her missions are:
Translate plant objectives into shop floor objectives focusing on Health and Safety, Cost, Reduction in repeated failure rates and People Development
To be involved in the safety risk assessment at site and ensures Job plans are updated with new findings
Apply preventive and predictive maintenance practices, and contribute to their improvement
Lead Annual and mid-year performance reviews and IDPs for all key staff positions with a training plan developed to increase required skills
Manage and motivate his team
Ensure co-ordination and co-operation with contractors
PERFORMANCE CRITERIA
Financial
Actual costs versus budgeted costs
Identify opportunities for the Plant Performance Plan
Actively participate in development, critical challenge & validation of scope of work and budget using Input from RCA, maintenance plan, inspections etc.
Accurate schedule for shutdown put in place and followed on daily basis including project progress tracking and follow up cost vs. budget.
Technical Performance
Improve Reliability, especially raw mills, burning lines, cement mills, and packing plant as well as reduce equipment failure rate (ADAP)
Increase Mean time between failures (MTBF)
Ensure execution resources are available during specific inspections
Ensure that the action plans are made based on the feedback of specific inspections and jobs are executed as planned keeping in view safety, quality and cost
Provide meaningful analysis on electrical maintenance performance and identify the necessary major actions or initiatives to be taken
Maintenance Practices
Compliance to maintenance key performance indicators
Ensure the availability of all resources required for Shutdowns (Manpower, tools, spare, contractors, etc)
Identify & Analyze associated risks and evaluate possible mitigating actions by cross-functional departments to reduce potential risk and loss to the operation
Safety
Communicate clearly on information relating to potentially dangerous situations and get confirmation that they are correctly understood
Make sure that key safety equipment is working properly
Ensure the use of Personal Protective Equipment
Check for safety and cleanness in the workplace
Conduct Safety Inspections and Visible Felt Leadership in the work place
Ensure that supervisors conduct planned task observations on subordinates
RESPONSIBILITIES
Is responsible for the execution and the quality of maintenance work to be carried out on electrical equipment according to planned works orders
Ensure proper day-to-day scheduling of works and necessary resources is executed.
Assign and review work to perform with the craftsman
Ensure upon completion of repairs, that equipment is in good operating condition, ready to meet operational requirements, fully inspected, tested, clean and safe
Ensure and control quality of maintenance jobs done by subcontractors
Provide reporting on repair jobs including consumption of materials, specific tools, man hours and skills, and fills equipment history files
Ensure completion of major operations within schedule
Keep himself/herself informed of general plant practices so as to ensure “on-call duty”
Define the missions and objectives of his/her workforce and carry out their performance reviews, promote the quality of the work and motivate his/her personnel, develop their skills to keep abreast with new management methods and tools
Contribute in his/her field, to the development of working methods and definition of procedures and ensure their implementation
Contribute to Root Cause Analysis
Participate in the Plant Performance Plan (PPP)
Performs any other reasonable tasks when requested by Maintenance Manager.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
Degree or B-Tech in Electrical Engineering
5 years’ experience in execution and methods activities
GCC – Mining – MHSA (would be advantageous)
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Good knowledge of product and of manufacturing processes (experience as an engineer is desirable)
In-depth knowledge of maintenance management methods, of predictive inspection tools and of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
Knowledge of general mechanical; electrical engineering, of industrial automation operation systems
Knowledge of safety laws and regulations (i.e. MHSA; OHS Act)
