A local company in Paarl with a International customer base is looking for a full-time individual with 3-5+ years experience to full-fill the role of an Electro/Mechanical Technician with an emphasis on mechanical engineering.

The ideal candidate will work closely with the electronic design engineers and be responsible for the mechanical design on new and existing products. A strong background in electronics will be a major advantage.

Knowledge and Skill:

ACAD and Solidworks

3D modelling

2D drafting

Knowledge of mechanical terminology such as flatness, bending radii, DIN Standards, etc.

Knowledge of Sheet metal, extrusion, diecast and Plastic moulding

Familiar with documentation control in an ISO9000 environment

General admin skills

Duties and Responsibilities:

Mechanical design using 3D modelling techniques

Manufacturing documentation

Interaction with suppliers from sample stage to volume production

Create detailed Assembly documentation

Convert 3D models from ACAD to Solidworks

REQUIREMENTS:

National Diploma or B-Tech Degree in Mechanical Engineering/ Electronic Engineering but not Preferable or

National Diploma or B-Tech in Electro-Mechanical (Mechatronics) Engineering but not Preferable

Candidates will be required to undergo a verbal and technical interview to demonstrate their skills.

Position would require travelling to remote places in India and China from time-to-time
