Our client in Uitenhage requires an Electronic Technician for their Paint Shop (Maintenance)
THE POSITION ENTAILS:
- Daily monitoring of critical production facilities
- Swift response to plant breakdowns in order to eliminate production losses
- Updating and modifying existing equipment to the latest technology and must be able to source spare parts
- Conduct detailed fault finding analysis in order to improve overall plant availability / performance on re-occurring equipment failures.
- Carry out routine preventative maintenance on electronic equipment in order to ensure machine availability according to client standards & requirements
- Perform software backup’s on a regular basis
- Complete operational data sheets to track machine performance and critical maintenance activities
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE SHOULD:
- Have a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (light current) or National Diploma in Mechatronics
- Have at least minimum of 3 years’ relevant post graduate experience in a maintenance environment
- Have knowledge of:
- Industrial PCs / HMI’s (installation, repairs and software packages)
- Basic operation of pneumatics & hydraulics
- Profibus networks (Siemens)
- VSD’s (SEW & Danfoss)
- Siemens switch gear and PILZ safety devices
- Robots (Kuka & Durr)
- Siemens S7 PLC faultfinding and programming
- VMT vision systems
- Be able to operate, program and maintain robots
- Have the ability to do PLC, PC, HMI backups.
- Have sound knowledge of robotic systems and various application devices
- Be able to improve machine performance by streamlining preventative maintenance tasks and frequencies.
- Have the ability to carry out modifications to existing equipment by introducing the latest technologies available
- Have good experience in problem solving techniques
- Be able to work within a team and must be willing to share knowledge with fellow workers
