GeoSUN Africa, based in Stellenbosch, is a spin-off company of the Centre for Renewable and Sustainable Energy Studies (CRSES) at Stellenbosch University. GeoSUN specialise in solar resource assessments for the solar energy industry. GeoSUN has opportunities for 2017 P1/P2 internship for Electronics Engineering students from a University of Technology.

The requirements are:

• Good English proficiency
• Willingness to travel and work on site when required
• Valid Driver’s License
• All required subjects passed (no subjects that needs to be completed part time)

The successful candidate will be required to assist with:

• On-site measurement equipment installations and maintenance, focusing on measurement instruments, data logging equipment software and communication systems.
• Calibration work at utility scale Solar Plants (many of which are in remote locations in South Africa).
• Office work which could entail data processing, data storage (SQL), data logger programming, weather station pre-setup and testing, etc.
