Our Employee Benefits Team is in need of a dynamic team-player who has a great understanding of key payroll and employee benefits processes and a can do attitude. The selected candidate should have a proven leadership track record and demonstrate essential leadership qualities.
Our ideal candidate will be self-motivated and zealous about their own and the team’s performance and will have the high energy levels required for this fast-paced, exciting and dynamic retail environment.
Purpose
The main purpose of this role is to lead and support the Employee benefits team with comprehensive Payroll processes. In addition, you are to ensure that all payment queries are dealt with timeously. The successful candidate will be required to identify common challenges with regards to payroll structures and to introduce effective methodologies to simplify the process.
Experience & Qualifications
Minimum 5 years Payroll experience
Experience in leading a team
Matric with a relevant payroll tertiary qualification (preferred)
A valid driver’s license
Microsoft Office proficiency – Advanced Excel essential
SAGE HRM People/VIP knowledge advantageous
Role Responsibilities
A comprehensive understanding of employee taxation and SARS compliance
Assisting the team in a leadership capacity, ensuring that SLA’s are reached and payroll processes are optimized and efficient
Provide input to the development of service strategy
Support, mentor and develop team of Payroll Administrators
Good working knowledge of benefits (medical aid /pension fund)
Ensuring deadlines are met and work is delivered to highest possible standard
Confident communication and capable of advising team members at all levels (senior and junior staff) in a professional/corporate office environment
Coordinating pay-slip processing and the competency to manage the executive payroll
Strong knowledge of Human Resource functions will be required to create cohesion in the Employee Benefits Team as well as Human Capital in terms of consistency
Retail is fast paced and very dynamic, therefore the durability and sustainability is key
Payroll software knowledge is essential as well as a solid understanding of SAGE VIP / PEOPLE System
Retail / Clothing manufacturing knowledge is preferred
Previous exposure to clothing manufacturing bargaining council
As this role is senior in nature the candidate will be required to hit the ground running and immediately add value to the team
