THE BOARDROOM-REFRESHING RECRUITMENT seeks a highly skilled & experienced EMPLOYEE RELATIONS SPECIALIST for our client, a luxury hotel. If you meet the criteria below, then I would like to hear from you!Job PurposeReporting to the Employment Relations Manager based at the hotel, the Employee Relations Specialist will be the Employee Relations expert for the business unit cluster and will be responsible for: Supporting the implementation of Employee Relations initiatives conducive to a healthy employee / management environment with high levels of engagement.Supporting the creation of an environment that promotes fairness and consistency for all stakeholders in the /Cluster/BU.Ensures a good working relationship between management and Unions.Adherence to the employment legislation in all its people management processes and policies. Education Legal degree or relevant 3 Year B-Degree / Diploma in Labour Relations Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as Labour Relations specialist and managing union relationshipsA track record of delivery of employee relations initiatives within a complex environmentExperience managing contentious people issues effectively together with a good level of emotional intelligence and inter-personal and communication skills. Skills and Knowledge Human Resources Function KnowledgePerformance ManagementProject ManagementCompensationEmployee BenefitsAdvanced Employee RelationsHR Information SystemsRecruitment/PlacementStakeholder Relationship Management Key Performance Areas:ER Intervention Implementation & Administration: Supports the ER/HR Manager to ensure a sound ER environment across the Cluster/ BURecognizes ER barriers, risks and opportunities that may impact the businessFacilitate the implementation of ER programs across the BUFacilitates regular ER climate surveys to ensure proactive management of the ER function at BU LevelEnsures effective and efficient implementation of the processes to keep to the necessary time frames in how ER issues are managed Case Management: Advises management and employees on ER processesFacilitate logistics around disciplinary and grievance casesFacilitates that all cases are handled fairly and timeouslyEducate line managers and all employees within BU regarding ER Policies and procedures to ensure understanding and compliance with new legislationPreparation of case evidence and preparation for disciplinary processes at the CCMARepresent the company at the CCMA for all business unit related casesEnsure effective tracking and reporting of all ER cases Stakeholder relationship management: Liaises with and builds relationships with union shop stewardsIdentifies and resolves potential ER related issuesIdentifies service requirements and performanceMaintains regular communication (e.g. communicates product performance)Manages non-conformance issuesMeetings attended as per scheduleDepartments / staff are informed of information required to meet their needs and contributes to operational effectiveness Applications should include your updated C.V in word format.
