Job Title: Engineer: Plant

Our client an international Mining Group is looking for a Plant Engineer, the position is based in Richards Bay. Reporting to the Manager they will provide total maintenance support, shutdown and planning services to designated plants and processes in order to ensure optimum asset availability and legal compliance.

Key Areas of responsibility:

• Developing, establishing and applying the maintenance strategy
• Implement asset performance measures
• Manage, plan and execute major annual and recurring monthly shutdowns
• Prepare and control the section forecast and maintenance budgets
• Expenditure of normal and abnormal costs on a monthly basis
• Assessing shutdown plans in order to reduce unfavourable losses and plant and machinery breakdown risk.

Qualifications and Skills;
• National Diploma or Degree in relevant engineering discipline (Mechanical or Electrical)
• Government Certificate of Competency (GCC): Mines and Works
• 5 or more years’ experience in general engineering practices, preferably in a mining / smelting environment or heavy industrial engineering
• Exposure to projects and reliability engineering as well as conveyors, crushing and screening equipment will be an advantage
